I was in the West Stand upper at the Ponty end and I honesty thought it went in off the defender. If he did punch it in then that just about makes up for the 2 clear handballs for which we should have had penalties.
More annoyed that we still had two minutes to try for a winner, but the team all wasted time celebrating like it was already a winner in front of the west stand, instead of rushing back to kick off.
The referee wouldn't have seen anything from his position and the linesman in front of the West stand saw nothing all game including the obvious offside when Cambridge could have scored four times within a few seconds in the first half....
That isn't how football works. If the clock stopped ever time the ball was out of play there'd be half an hour added on
Just before his goal, Lewis had a similar situation where he stayed out of the box so missed an opportunity to score. DKD motioned to Lewis that he should have been in the box for this opportunity. Obviously Lewis took the advice and was in the right place to score the next time a cross came in. Credit to DKD. We may not have equalised if DKD had not given the advice.
Equally, credit to Lewis. He listened, took the advice on board and was rewarded. If he now does that off his own back, that's improvement in action ... If he doesn't however, then by all means question it.
