Is it this sale our fault again?

Tbh reading the article from the club web and thinking about it,could it be our fault. Knowbody would've guessed we would've been here this time last year but wasn't it just smart to have signed up Connor on a 1 and a half year deal last Jan which would take him to 2018? Or we could have in the summer... But like I said, know body would've guessed that we would be were we are now.
