To let Howard sit one out as a reality check. Has all the talk of multi million pound moves and and premiership football put him in a state of complacency. Only seen Rotherham and Chengdu so far, but never read a report saying Howard "played well", "justified his price tag" or "carried the team forwards" and he's supposed to be the teams shining light. I don't doubt the lads ability, and on any day can be a matchwinner, but does he need bringing down a peg or two and let Leon start on saturday??
Why is it Howard gets the blame. 2 penalties conceded by players who simply aren't good enough to play in the popsitions they played in tonight. Concede 2 away from home and most of the time you will lose the game.
RE: Why is it Howard gets the blame. its stupid, a lot of people i know that went to qpr said he wass best player on pitch
Well saying let Howard sit the next 1 out as a reality check......... sounds pretty accusing to me. Our defence gave 2 sloppy pens away tonight. it was always going to be difficult from then on. Crewe are no mugs on their own patch.
RE: Why is it Howard gets the blame. well then we are both working on say so.... i am not criticising, there is obviously problems all over the pitch, moore in defence, strikers finishing efforts etc and i am not saying dropping him will solve all our problems, it's a suggestion.
RE: So you think that Howard should be doing things wrong? no, i'm just saying that maybe he should be doing a bit more as our star player to breed confidence. If (when ff ) he starts on saturday a couple of goals might be nice (Y)
RE: So you think that Howard should be doing things wrong? I've rarely seen Bri sit back & be idle in a game. Often to his own detriment he tries to do it all when all around him are having a mare
I agree that would be nice, but I think to get the best out of Howard we need to get a player alongside him that he can trust. When Da Silva played there Howard was a better player, because he trusted him to do the right thing, with Hassel there Howard seems to be more reluctant to get forward and attack like he did before.
Way he set the goal up versus QPR was quality. Don't know if he did anything else, but what people have to remember is that football is a team game. You can't blame one player for the ills of the entire side.
RE: So you think that Howard should be doing things wrong? Where you at the Sheff Utd home game last season for one...? Oh yeah didnt want to get booked in case he missed his shop window moment against Chelsea.
RE: Way he set the goal up versus QPR was quality. Wrong. You can. It's ODJs fault ... even when he's not playing. Fact.
RE: I agree that would be nice, but I think to get the best out of Howard fully agree, last season Da Silva brought out his natural attacking side out (and most of his goals??). maybe with hassel it affects his game, that might not be the case with leon as he is not captain.
