Is it about time that there was some discussions about pulling together a supporter led bid? Not 5 money men but a real share issue, similar to that at Pompey?
The idea of it sounds great - I'm a huge fan of what's happened at FC United for example, who are an inspiration in today's megabucks world of football. I wonder, however, just how practical it is at Barnsley. Would be interested to hear about how it could be done though...
This is interesting... http://www.communitypompey.co.uk/get-involved/ £1000 to be a shareholder. £100 to be a syndicate shareholder. Even get voting rights if you're a member of the Portsmouth Trust. There's lots of questions about how you'd do it & how you'd raise enough money. Do you look to get 5 major shareholders involved with a higher £££ to become non exec board members? Or do you have a democratic period of say 5 years where shareholders vote in a board and then they have decision making powers? I dunno. I just think it's worth starting up these conversations.
Could be wrong but am sure i read somewhere that cryne had changed his mind about selling, thats why watkins and mansford were brought in. Having said that they could just be here to try make it a more saleable asset
