on his first or second appearance numb nuts.........better than the one goal in 50 odedonkey turns out i think
you're kidding ? if, at the end of the season he's scored say 12 goals for utd, you may have a point. One goal ? by that logic Nads was worth £10k a week as on his debut he scored 2 and made one
Its only one goal, it doesnt mean anything at this stage. Lets see how many he gets before the end of the season. Also unfair to compare to Oddjob as we all know he is a useless **** and if he was paid on a goals scored basis he'd be effing bankrupt.
ive not forgot about bogdanovic at all, why would i? just nice to see a young prospect in english football scoring a goal early in his career at sheff utd and keeping southampton down below us. ward is a yound lad, how old is bogdanovic again? late 20's? as for odedonkey, surely he has been farmed out somewhere on loan?
That's not what your original post was on about... You were having a dig because we didn't pay over the odds for a striker who's actually scored. We paid less for someone who also scored. What's it matter?
RE: That's not what your original post was on about... we were never paying over the odds, the fee sheff utd paid was less than what we were going to pay, the wages were the stubbling block, if thelocal press are to believed.
I meant over the odds wages-wise Asking for 10k when you ply your trade in league 2 is just ridiculous. I'd rather us stick with our policy because we haven't got parachute payments to pay out stupid wages on "prospects".
RE: I meant over the odds wages-wise i never knew about his ten grand a week wage demands. he wont be on that at the blades howard is only on 8k a week, they wont pay a new upstart ten. i agree we need to keep a lid on things, but paying ten bob and a blackies egg to players from places in the world that judith chalmers hasnt visited, isnt necessary the way forward.........unless you live in the welsh ones world.
I'm not a happy clapper... But I'm not a Davey hater either. I can't see what good it would do us to get rid of him. From a financial point of view it would be stupid, but if he persists with the tactics he's using then something should be done. In some games you could say it's because of the lack of players through injury, but against Ipswich we should have just played the normal 4-4-2. I would say it could be part of the way forward, as it seems it's all we can afford. To be honest I'd prefer to see 11 players from Barnsley in the starting line up but it's never going to happen, and British players tend to want more money, so the only way forward without breaking the bank is to buy foreign.
RE: I meant over the odds wages-wise He probably asked for over the odds wages because he didn't really want to play for us. Yes Ward (and Bogdanovic) have scored in their first one or two games... But so did Mike Turner!
