Get the Sky+ set and get to the ground if folk can. I know will be rough call for non season ticket holders, many who will be eyeing Blackpool weekend too. Still think there will be over 10,000.
I'm definitely going mate, my lad is away that weekend and he asked me the question and I was sure id read it somewhere that it was on the bbc1
How many live games have we ever had on proper telly before? Not Sky or another satellite or digital channel, but proper telly? We lost to Liverpool 4-0 in the 80s and I think that was. I think the game that ended Gary Flemming's career was, against Sheff Utd? The Chelsea cup game a few years ago was. Was the semi-final? Any others?
Re: How many live games have we ever had on proper telly before? Not many. Was West Ham in Cup early 90's on normal TV?
Re: How many live games have we ever had on proper telly before? Chelsea game was on Sky (if you mean the quarter final), as was the semi. We had a few on Yorkshire early 90's - one against Grimsby at home I recall. There was the infamous one away to Tranmere which was shown on Granada but not Yorkshire....police were wondering where one supporters coach had got to, they'd decided not to bother going to the game and had gone to Blackpool to watch it in the pub instead!
Linekar, McCarthy and Hanson were in the studio for the Chelsea game On that bit next to Ponty. You sure it wasn't on the BBC?

Re: Linekar, McCarthy and Hanson were in the studio for the Chelsea game I thought it was on Sky, but you might be right....as I didn't see the full TV coverage, just match of the day in the pub having been to the game.
