Baird fouled a player, advantage was given, then he fouled another player before play had stopped and he got 2 yellows in one go after the second foul. Doesn't seem reyt that, getting sent off when you didn't even know you were on a yellow in the first place, anyone know the rule?
If the ref was intending to show yellow for the first foul once the advantage was finished it sounds right.
Presumably he was. Didn't look like a yellow for the first tbh, second was blatant. Just never seen someone get 2 yellows in one play like that.
Yeah seems fair. The ref would have booked after the advantage was given, although you could argue he may have been more cautious if he had known he was on a yellow in the first place
I thought it was brilliant reffing. Both were yellow card offences at least, 2nd could have been a straight red. Baird probably thought he had free-rein to whack someone thinking he was going to get booked anyway.
I disagree. No way would be had made 2nd challenge if he all ready had a yellow which at the time he didnt. Ive never seen this before the reason is its ******.
It's not ******, it's the rules and players are aware of it. They know that advantage can be played and once the advantage had been played that the ref can then deal with the initial incident. The player can have no complaints.
And a yellow for priskin jumping up and elbowing the Ireland player in the face was shocking refereeing
I thought that the ref was right and that Baird was foolishly wrong. To be honest, the second foul could have been construed as a straight red as a blatant hack at the guy with no attempt to play the ball. it could have caused serious injury. Baird can have no complaints. I wouldn't mind if we had signed Lafferty, by the way, but we have our share of strikers now.
I bloody love Kyle Lafferty, his performances in this campaign have been incredible. He's going to be a big miss when they play the Greeks.
