Or anyone who knows where to get one fixed? Christopher accidentally knocked his onto the floor (last night) and it won't work now. He has loads of music and videos on it so doesn't really want to lose everything.
You could try here http://www.dataclinic.co.uk/data-recovery-external-disk.htm http://www.easyrecovery.co.uk/External_Hard_Drive_Recovery.html Won't be cheap though, unfortunately, as you can see. For more info type "external hard drive data recovery" into google
We had a problem with a hard drive today at work tech guy couldn't fix it - said it would cost between £200 and £300 to fix. Goes away to special labs to be fixed </p>
an external harddrive is the exact same as an internal one, just in a case. is it the actual hard drive which is broken or the connection inside the case. have you tried taking the hard drive out of the case and putting it in a pc like normal. if you havent even opened up the external casing it may have just come loose inside
He said he could hear something loose inside, but I don't know if he has opened it up to look inside yet.
