Patrick Kluivert Championship | Sheffield Wednesday by Henshowl 23 July 2007 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have read on these pages since getting home from work that we are linked to Patrick Kluivert. Is this true? Somebody suggested that he had trained with us in Holland - did this really happen? I have seen the Star and it says that we are hoping to bring a 'big name' in on trial - is this the 'big name'? Not sure how happy I am about him signing but I suppose if it came off and he produced anything like the form he is capable of then we could be looking at 25 goals from him - and promotion! Somebody put me out of my misery - is this Kluivert thing possible????????? from 606 MESSAGEBOARD
No Wind Up It was mentioned on here yesterday, with people replying with he's past it and other similar comments.
We never thought we'd here this, and yes, it does still sound daft, but former Barcelona hitman Patrick Kluivert is the latest of a long list of names linked with Hillsborough. Wednesday boss Brian Laws is desperate to add a new striker to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season and in light of Steve Maclean's departure to Cardiff City. And after missing out on Billy Sharp, Grzegorz Rasiak, and Kenwyne Jones, Laws is eager to add a big name to his squad, with Kluivert;s name being mentioned and expected to arrive at Middleswood Road training ground some time this week. The former Dutch international, 31, is currently playing in his home country with PSV Eindhoven but has failed to cement a first team spot down with the club, after moving there from a relatively unsuccessful spell at Valencia. He's had a spell on English shores before with a short stint at Newcastle United, which saw him net sic goals from 15 appearances for the Magpies, but he's best known for his time at Barcelona, Milan, and Ajax.(shithappens)
