I would say from and engineers perspective that though it may look half full its likely that it is not.

RE: I would say........if a barman gave you that......what would you say? Would you say Thank you OR hey up, its chuffing half empty I would definatly say the later
yes but..... the bar man didn't give it me, so your analogy is ******.
My own personal thoughts would be that I've had the occasional bad pint of this kind of ale in the past but the first half of this pint was bloody brilliant, theres no reason to expect any different from the other half so I can't wait to sup it.

It is definitely half empty because ...there is a frothy ring a few inches above the beer level. So it has been fuller and is losing liquid.
It would only be half full if it had already been filled to that level.

The picture appears distorted, but..... to the eye of an ex-liquor stock-taker, the glass contains less than half of it's capacity.
RE: ok smartarse Cos it looks a bit slanty, as if it's been tipped sideways for a slurp like.
If it had been swished the level would be the same all round.
Ahem.

RE: ok I take it back I wasn't nit picking.
Actually I'm pissed and talking out of me arse - as usual

remind me to be more selective when I choose pictures to demonstrate analogies my point has been totally lost
