Saw him at half time walking around the side of the pitch to the east stand with a couple of cups of tea/coffee, didn't look like he was limping, and isn't suspended.

    Hmmm odd.

Wonder what's gone off there then?

    Kozluk is a better defender

    RE: Hmmm odd.

might have something to do with the fact that he can't defend ! only gets a game for his free kicks

Werling was the only player who turned up against Hull. To drop him on the back of that performance was ridiculous. Aside from that, Kozluk had a good last 40 minutes yesterday but was atrocious in the first 50, capped off by a fine pass across the pitch to Davey in the dugout, and then stupidly giving the penalty away.

Don't think Werling did anything wrong that warranted being dropped, and certainly should be on the bench, if not playing on the left wing.

    Are you one

    of The Chuckle Brothers?

Werling was awful at Hull probably our worst player.

Kozluk put in a solid defensive display yesterday. A couple of misplaced passes, but he wasn't the only one!

Kozluk was asleep for the majority of the first half. He tightened up considerably in the 2nd half, but I was sat right in line with the penalty award, and I have absolutely no idea why he grabbed St Ledgers shirt. He didn't stand a chance of scoring from where he was, and it was idiotic. Muller bailed him out.

Werling was no worse than any of our other defenders against Hull. Foster had a nightmare there, as did Souza. He'd certainly be in the side ahead of Devaney at the moment for me. We need at least one of our wide players to be able to cross in order to give Ferenczi some service. Either that or switch Devaney and JCR and allow Devaney to cross with his natural foot.

    Kozluk

Put in a couple of excellent interceptions in the first half to clear dangerous situations. It was a silly penalty decision
    to conceed I concur.

A full backs main job is to stop crosses, Werling didn't get near stopping one at Hull which is very poor indeed. He deserved to get dropped. He'll have to improve his defensive displays to get back in the team for me.

Devaney's problems yesterday were mainly down to him having a limited left foot.

Agreed on Devaney, which is why I think he needs to switch with JCR. JCR doesn't cross that often anyway, so seems like Devaney on the right would mean more better crosses, in theory at least.

I'm yet to be convinced on either Kozluk or Werling. Kozluk's 2nd half display yesterday, until the stupid penalty challenge, was his best half for the club and I was impressed.

None of the Hull goals came from crosses though, I'd say that much.

And chuckle brother was slightly harsh. ;)

    Problem is....

That Disco can't cross from either wing, other than the odd cracker once every blue moon.

Campbell-Ryce was rubbish on the left against Burnley in the first half... swapped at half time and he was excellent back on the right.

Our best crosser from the left has been Werling

And Devaney's made more impact as fresh legs from the bench this season than he ever has when he starts.

I reckon try Werling on left, JCR on right, Disco on bench to replace whichever tires first for the last half hour.

Problem is both are inconsistent,if you ask most Sheff Utd fans they would say Kozluk looked a decent player one week ,a sunday league player the next.Werlings the same but he isn't prone to major howlers like giving penalties away in the last minute, and he can cross and shoot. Daveys probably giving him a rest, I think he'll be back.

    My view on the Wingers

    Is that:

    a) Devany produces better quality crosses from the right than JCR. He did through most of last season and some of this when doing a cameo from the bench on the right.

    b) Werling is not an attacking fullback, he played left wing in Turkey and that's where he should play as he produces better crosses from the left than any of our other wingers.

    c) JCR infruiates the hell out of me. He seems the have speed to take people on but breaks into a run, stops and cuts inside or play a square ball. Until he starts knocking it past people running down the outside and crossing the ball in then I think Devany is the better bet on the right wing.

    d) Ricketts ... has no redeeming features. 2nd in the Turkey stakes only to Dwayne.
