What the actual ****?? Why would he sign on there. Surely we can compete with them and in that price range!! Bit concerning all this malarkey now...
That is abit worrying if true we have just been promoted and cannot now afford 200k to sign someone who has been one of our best performers scince jan
I wouldn't have thought the £200,000 would be a problem. It's more likely that Preston have offered personal terms above and beyond what we have.
Or maybe with Marley back and Yiadom signed, our priorities are in other areas? Still pretty disappointed though if it's true.
He would be ideal in this squad. He's been our most dangerous player for me these last few months. Pace is something that frightens any team - L1 or championship. I thought he was going back to Southampton and had accepted that. If he goes to Preston will be absolute gutted. Again - good luck to the lad, just wish he was staying.
if folk remember, what happened in 06.. missed out on Chopra, McPhail went as well, and failed to strengthen enough and struggled like **** Do players when promoted expect too much..? or are we the only ones that stick to budget... Or maybe we're saving a bit of our 6.5 mill incase we go down
Missed out on Chopra? We didn't have him on loan the season we got promoted, so it's not really relative to Isgrove/Brownhill.
PNE journal saying there was interest but it's cooled. Izzy gone on holiday anyway, so guess it's wait and see, but I assume we are being blown away with wages and sign on fees. The players usually have little say where they go, they just blindly follow their agents.
Ditto McPhail. Leeds were still paying at least half of his £20k a week wages when he was with us, so no way was he ever a realistic target.
I like him, really good team player and worked his socks off - although I'd hope we can find someone with a few more goals and assists in them. Appearances: 34 Goals: 1 Assists: 4
