The perfect deadline day signing. How we could do with him now.

No real pace to mention and always carried a few injuries but had the Heart of a lion, always gave his all, good first touch, eye for goal, good in the air, and strong hold up/link play...

I could be describing George Waring! He may not make 46 games due to fitness but be sure he will guarentee a performance, and goals, and assists... And a good foil for Winnall.

If not George. A similar type player.

I'd also like to see us give Simeon Jackson a short term deal. And possibly consider cancelling Wilkinson's loan deal. Debut day goal granted and it may be harsh on Connor but he looks like a nervous academy youngster (which is what he is) not a first team forward. We need a man not a boy!

He was the "make weight" in the deal though. Wasn't he signed as part of the deal for Reiczi?

But agreed, one helluva player for us.

If we are gonna play one up front we need somebody mobile.

Devante Cole type player, but we don't have the resources to compete with Bradford at the moment, which points to where we are.

"Managing expectations" is a phrase that comes to mind. We need to accept that we are a mid table side at best.
If Scowen, Pearson or Winnall get injured we are screed basically & if a few of the loan signings are recalled (the the exception of Wilkinson & Rothwell) we are screwed. That cannot be denied.

On the plus side we have a great youth academy & in my opinion a decent long term strategy, but if anyone pretends we are going to get in the play offs with our existing squad they are either wringing rose tinted spectacles or have run off with my cooking sherry...

What do you mean by 'resources' if you mean money, you are wrong.

Why have you found our secret stash?

Pretty sure we were waiting to see if that Stones money was likely to be flowing before signing anyone.

Based on the fact Patrick is trying to ensure we are able to stand on our own two feet financially the current situation is that we don't seem to have a pot to urinate in.

Disagree... we need a target man. Devante Cole wouldn't fit that bill.

Pace of a cart horse is fine by me if the lad is committed and puts in a shift for the team, gets goals and influences play like STAN did.

Devante Cole or a young Stan? Young Stan every day of the week for me.

There should be plenty of money (for a league one side).

All the championship wages have gone, we've not got a big squad, several loanees who's wages we'll not be fully covering, we've not signed any big names & there's the Holgate money
