"I had a superb start as I scored six goals in my first nine games and three meant victory for Barnsley, who were in the relegation zone at that time.

"Then one of my team-mates (Daniel Nardiello) had a good run in the last games of the season, so we managed to stay in the Championship.

"I'm having a great time in Barnsley - 220,000 people live in the town and there are some great cities around too, such as Sheffield, Manchester and Leeds.

"I like being here in England and I've two years left on my contract, but you never know what the future brings."

But despite impressing during his initial months in English football, Ferenczi is not anticipating a call-up to the Hungary squad.

He added: "The national coach of Hungary watched our game against Plymouth when plenty of Hungarians were playing - we won 4-2 with the help of my goal.

    "I didn't get a call-up, so I don't think I will be capped in the near future.

"It's a fantastic feeling when an English fan waves a Hungarian flag. I see five or six each game in our stadium."

Calling Sheffield and Leeds 'great cities' will hardly endear him to Barnsley supporters.

    You cannot deny.............

Leeds and Sheffield are great cities
And there's nowt wrong with football fans from those cities or football fans that have some link to those cities e.g. father or mother were from Leeds or Sheffield
Its the Barstewards born and bred in Barnsley (e.g. never been out of Wombwell) that support the football teams from those cities that I don't like

both have much to commend them for their facilities - shopping, theatre, restaurants etc - their close proximity could be important to having players commit to play for us.

Their football teams on the other hand...............

Praise , indeed , to Barnsley fans

It may seem a a small point , but those fans who've displayed the Hungarian flags have certainly endeared themselves to Istvan . Thoughtfulness like that will be a big help to him settling in this country , which will , hopefully , help him become more consistant on the pitch .
Well done you Reds fans . (clap) (clap) (nodding2fingers) (nodding2fingers)
