Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen.
    Can someone please help me.

I operate a BT Voyager 2100 wireless broadband system in my house with 1 x PC and 2 x Laptops.

I bought my second Laptop last August, and it is very tempremental when connecting to Broadband. I am connected to the router with a full signal throughout the house, but sometimes it will connect and others youve no chance.

It can even throw you out part way through some work.

Ive spoken to my ISP, BT and Fujitsu, who are all bemused.

    Can anyone please help me.

    Thank you in anticipation(banghead)

    Could be ...

It points to an issue with the WIFI card in your new laptop but a few generla things to try are :

Does the broadband router have a 4 port hub attached or integrated - if so I assume that the laptop connects via this 'wired' connection with no problems ? - if so this will verify the network components of the OS are OK.

if it does then it is definetly just to do with the WIFI setup - WiFi systems sometimes suffer from interference from other devices that use similar frequencies. Examples are cordless telephones and microwave ovens so try and make sure none of these are adjacent when using the laptop.

The WIFI router should also have a 'channel' setting in its web configuration page - each channel relates to a range of frequencies it transmits on, by default it's usually channel 1 but it may be worth changing this to 6 or 11 , there may be something that is using the other frequencies.

It's worth having a look at the laptops manufacturers website (if its intergrated WIFI) or that of the WIFI card (if its an external card) to look for updated drivers.
