This phrase is being taken beyond the realms of sensability by certain posters on this bbs. Often by people who have little out going comcerns of their own. How much does a copy of Barely 16 cost these days? It's only a fiver a week i hear them cry. No its not. Its £40+ every time you want to attend a game. Something you cannot scrimp and save over a year. Stay away fans are being blamed for everything it seems from poor crowds at Oakwell to the War on Terror in indo China. Start winning and winning good then the crowds will return. That is a marked fact. Or sign a player who has a bit of ability that also helps. The club that we all claim to love and die for has the PR relationship of Adolf Hitler attending a Barmitza (SP?). Nothing makes sense The Chairman says oe thing,The manager another and no one seems to know who to belive thus damaging the fans belif in the club to progress forward creating apathy amongst the mass's. Tis about time a united front between the clubs employees happened before the hole gets too deep and the bonds of blind faith are severed. Barnsley fans are becoming arrogant and slowly turning into SWFC fans. Oh we're interested in Joe Bloggs from AFC tampax UTD. Neve rheard of him, he's ****. If thats your attidue towards a player coming into the club then **** off to S6. Ever since the 'glory season' of the premiership this clubs fans have been clamouring for silly money to be spent to chase the dream. A certain club nearly shut just down the road, people forget that. They also forget that BFC have been close to shutting due to over zealous spending and mismanagment on more than one occassion. Keep it reel! Several years ago, we signed some unknown dutch centrehalf. I cant remember anyone saying whos he? never heard of him he's ****, same was said of a few others. Its called trusting the manager. So trust him.
BT Its already been sorted.
DT can't pay the 'morgage' and we can't be arsed to **** her.
DT's fecked although I like him.

Nutkins Am I mishtaken or has drink been taken? MacMillan-esque, for me, in the scheme of things, the pretentious ******. Nivver give's yer a good limerick does he?
One would like to stip the normal frivolity.
What can I say?
I actually don't know what you are on about?

Frankly neither do I. Me heads mashed, too much work and too little play has sent me gay, or whatever that saying is. I've been loved by work then. I'm not a ****** really, just to put the needle on the record straight.
I thought the saying was "money doesn't grow on trees"! "Its £40+ every time you want to attend a game" Not sure where that figure comes from, obviously adding up all the optional incidentals. I'm with you on your point that many people just cannot afford to go or will choose to do something else which is fine. But quite why people say it costs upwards for £40 every time they go to a game baffles me, that isn't the cost of going to a game…..because I have a season ticket I don't spend anything on match days in connection with the game. So why it should cost other people twice the cost of a match ticket? I accept some people will have transport costs (I don't have that as I have a 20 min walk to the ground). Beer, food (quite why people can't manage 2 hours without stuffing their face I don't know!)
It costs £40+ because some people with families have things called 'children'. These little scroungers don't have jobs and NEVER pay their own way (until they're over about 30). Why we put up with them I don't know. And when you have to take more than one of them......
RE: I thought the saying was "money doesn't grow on trees"! I've bought my season ticket, but on top of that each game I pay for the following: Petrol to and from ground (I live in Sale, every game is an away game for me (unless we play Stockport). Car parking - If its an evening game, or I am running late or its chucking it down I will park in the ground. Pie - I can manage 2 hours without stuffing my face, but its more like 5 hours for me. Plus I like the pies at Oakwell. Programme - I read it at half time, but I mainly buy it because it gives a bit more income to the club. Sometimes I will take along a niece or two, that means more money spent on tickets and pies/drinks.
Or sign a player who has a bit of ability that also helps. goes against the "spending money" point. But i like the post and its something i keep goign on about! We hear different things from manager and chairman. Its about time we heard the truth and something was done.
Nicely put Let Richie do what he feels is right - and just support the team when you do go. Thst's not to say that there shouldn't be healthy debate about team selection/transfers/loans/tactics etc.
I have a solution....... Put the cost of attending games on the same basis as claming benefits... Lets means test it... ie those who can't afford to go get government benefits/funding... those than can afford it, get to pay over the odds and receive **** all Problem Solved.... D/T, btw, weren't a personal dig, I fully understand your position and appreciate it... it was posed as a dig at the "stay away commenters" that may not grasp the actual cost of attending a game...
