I don't doubt the ground is probably accessible, and the pitch playable.
But, imagine if the fixture were reversed. Probably a couple of thousand Reds fans trying to get to Selhurst through a huge swathe of the midlands that is severely under snow at the moment. Northants, Oxfordshire, Herts and Beds are all under 7 inches of fallen snow and it's still coming. Thousands of "unnecessary" folkup and down the motorways in a space of a few hours is probably not the best idea in the world. Palace fans and coaches would have had that to tackle tomorrow, with no really sure knowledge of what Saturday night has to offer.
I wouldn't be surprised if a few more are off, simply for the distance factor.

Listen pal...
Don't be coming on here with a sensible reasoned post... cranks onlyon here mate..
Ps, good post

They would be lucky to bring 300 ........... ......... tomorrow regardless of the weather, and we haven't had 2000+ fans at Palace since the Premiership match in August 1997
RE: They would be lucky to bring 300 ........... Most of the fixtures cancelled so far are either in the Midlands and West, or would involve away fans travelling through that area.
There's also the team coaches to consider. It adds up to quite a lot of traffic in areas where they don't need it.

You're right in what you say But that's not why the game has been postponed. It was postponed after a safety inspection of the area surrounding Oakwell.
They've called it off cos they can't be arsed ............. ....... to throw some grit on Grove Street, end of
makes sense, its a shame The FA didn't think of that for our Semi-Final tie against Cardiff. The weather was just like this and if i remember corrently a family died in a car crash on the M1 on the way down didn't they?
Couldnt agree more. I just come back from Oakwell and saw a Lambourghini with the registration mark DR06BA. Also have it from a reliable source at club that Didier loves the mixed lamb and shish kebab at Town Kebab and Pizza at Stairfoot. Dont take a genius to figure out which 'out of favour' premiership player is coming on loan. Well done Simon.
