.... or that is the feeling I am getting. The constant talk about how we cannot compete financially with the rest of the championship makes me believe that we have accepted relegation already. We will keep on trying and may stay up, but unless we get some form of financial backing, it will just be a stay of execution. And I don't think the people in charge will be too unhappy. We have a manager who has been brought in to work on a budget that is not enough for a Championship team to progress with. I do not believe he will be sacked, as we are preparing for life in Division 1 and he has worked in that Division. I also believe that the club were willing to accept relegation last year, but an enormous stroke of good fortune by the name of Ricardo Vaz Te happened along, and we had a brilliant first half of the season. When he, along with the midfielders had gone, the team collapsed, and we stayed up because of that early season sprint. Steele and Davies will be either transfered in January, or kept on and allowed to leave for nothing in the Summer. Personally, I believe they will be gone by the end of January. I really hope I am wrong in all this, and everyone can call me a miserable b@st@rd and a bl00dy pessimistic sod. But after the way the results are going, I can't see us getting out of it.
Whether it's true or not, that is clearly the perception that you and many other fans and stay away fans now have of the club. Therefore there is no other evidence required to prove that the club is failing from top to bottom at the moment (other than maybe the academy which seems to finally be doing well). In any business the perception of you with your customers is paramount, whether that's B2B or B2C.
I cant see anyone being happy with relegation, even those in charge, theres too much money to be lost by going down.I'm just hoping that some form of takeover is still being discussed because thats whats needed. I honestly cant see us getting out of it this time either,we've carried on where we left off last season.
