and certainly hasn't been commented on, but Robins played Macken on the right wing on Tuesday. Not on the right side of a three man forward line, not on the right but pushing on to be part of the attack, but very much the right sided player of a 5 man midfield. I think it's worth noting that managers will use players in positions that are not considered to be the player's preferred position. The fact that Robins did this on Tuesday doesn't make him a bad manager. And if we're allowing Robins this tactic can we now stop using it to beat the manager who has recently departed.
It was an astute tactical decision. Hume was running on empty. Macken on to sure things up for the last 25. For me though, I agree with you. Professional players should be able to slot in to pretty much any position, and perform to the required level. They get paid far too much not to be able to do that.
Yet more evidence Of you being up Davey's arse and licking it Jay. You Davey lover. Up his arse. Licking it. With your tongue. Up there.
Can I play the homophobic card here? Sorry, I suppose I don't know the rules of this game well enough.
RE: Can I play the homophobic card here? I'm sure there are plenty on here who would explain the rules to you. Young man.
RE: Can I play the homophobic card here? it's one thing bringing on a substitute out of position to counter the oppositions tactics (especially one of the squads most experienced and best hold up players) after an hour of play and another to start a player out of position when you have wingers sat on the bench....at home
a player with ageing legs ... come on for a player who is not yet ready for 98 mins play. Davey played macken first and brought hume on for 20 mins. Thats where he failed, for me dirk kuyt is similar to macken and he plays where macken as been put recently, they lack pace simple as that. I dont think that anyone knows which position he as actually been intended to play, right wing, right of front three or centre forward.
There is a slight difference though Jay... Because Macken was playing there infront of Bobby Hassell on Tuesday who was actually capable of defending, whereas against Reading he played there infront of Rob Kozluk, who was about as useful as a chocolate fireguard in that match.
Julian Gray. "He's a left winger FFS you Welsh lovely person, not a left back." But no.. I'm all for Robins and impressed with him so far, but it's just one for one and one for another with some people on here.
