Plus the final one before the season starts. No player in their right mind goes flying into tackles risking a knock before the first match has been played. I don't buy into what Hecky says suggesting the players didn't have the heart. Reasons behind this being, the ones we have brought in, Hecky has said that they have been tracking for a long time... If they didn't have the right mindset or attitude then they wouldn't be here. It's very simple really, these players will be completely different come next Saturday, just watch! I think he is just a bit peeved with the delays in getting more players through the door and probably making the point that being a little more flexible wouldn't hurt the club in the long term so that has to be frustrating. But as above, if these players don't have the heart which I think they do, then Hecky and his management / team are to blame. Lets face it you wouldn't track a player for the last 12 months if on the pitch in COMPETITIVE games they don't have the desire and will to win with that work ethic.. So I'm still firmly thinking we have recruited well so far but need more strength in depth especially up front. I'm not reading too much into this result, nor will I criticise the team if Bristol beat us, providing that effort is there which Hecky says was not evident today. I'm pretty sure it will be though.. Onto Setdi, hopefully with 4 more players to bolster the team.
A well reasoned post and after a few hours reflecting probably views that we should all take into account. These guys are Paul's choice. They let him down today so have a duty to rectify next week.
