I thought it was a lot better than Walsall, anyway. We were playing one of the better teams in the league today, I thought we defended pretty well throughout, as nothing was sticking up front and the midfield, once again, kept giving the ball away cheaply. (Not mentioning any names, but he wears number 32 and never puts a challenge in!!!) The 2 kids at full back did very well, I'll even excuse Smith his comedy throw in, as he never really looked out of his depth... hopefully this means we might see even less of Reece Brown between now and the rest of the season. We are crying out for a ball winner in midfield. Is Crainie worth a punt in there? He's played there before; the rest of the team isn't far away IMO. On a personal note; that's the first time I've ever seen us lose at Preston Still 1 out of 4 or 5 isn't too bad.
It was pretty awful. We never looked like we could cause them any problems (and apart from the first 5 mins we didn't) With so many youngsters in the side it needed the likes of Bailey & Jennings to step up, but they failed. Tracy obviously has no future if a rookie Williams gets the pick ahead of him. Don't know how their keeper kept Hourihanes last minute effort out. It looked in all the way.
It wasn't as bad as say Doncaster and Scunny last month. But it was still poor. To be fair though it was a very young side today, and it was the experience that got Preston the 3 points. January can't come soon enough.
I get the feeling Treacy got injured in the warm up as he was pulled from the squad and replaced with Abbot.
Absolutely spot on that man. We weren't abominable, and were no worse than at Walsall where we were playing an inferior team. I just wish that we'd have shown a bit of urgency in the second half when Preston sat back.
