When we can sell 30,000 plus tickets to watch the Reds at Wembley but cant get more than 8 or 9 Thousand into Oakwell week in week out (doh) (doh)
You are joking , we have tens of thousands who have been going week in week out for years.
Have you not read the posts?

Its the same at all clubs. We have about 8000 who watch regularly. Most of those 8k will be bringing family/mates x 3 who, for whatever reason, will never be regular attenders, they just go to the big games for the sense of occasion and possible celebration. And it's a good job they do. Would be ***** if we took 8000 down. Hopefully some of them will latch on to the club, especially if it is a successful day.
It reflects badly on the attitude of the people of Barnsley. Sure, the club don't always help themselves, but half the town don't deserve a football team.
Northampton took just short of 40 thousand when they played at cardiff a few year ago, whats there average gate a bet it doesent top 6 thousand.
Not just the people of Barnsley Pub in our village is taking a busload down to Wembley. How is that when there cant be more than half a dozen season ticket holders in the village? Where do they get the tickets????
RE: "Its a disgrace to the people of Barnsley"- FFS no doubt loads of abuse BUT... ... 1 Its called 'supply and demand' 2 Football has to compete with many other forms of entertainment e.g. where were you when the cinemas were struggling. I didn't hear the few remaining avid cinema fans complain about stop-at-home fans when all the cinemas were closing down )in -part due to poor films and not very good value for money. 3 Whilst Football generally offers poor value for money, the aforementioned cinemas have upped their game.. Digital sound, multiplexes, comfortable seats loads of legroom etc. and better quality (generally) films. 4 Football does not have a God given right to a regular fan base. When I was at school I could afford to go to Oakwell for all the home games pay on the turnstiles out of my pocket money. 5 Football is now very expensive and many people will go for the big games but think twice before going every single game. TV in colour, widescreen some matches in HD , surround sound, etc. There is also lot more entertainment choice on Saturdays now. Its great that there are fans who go week in and week out but I get sick and tired of people who se themselves up to be the only 'true' fans and look down on everyone else. Whilst I agree that it is only fair that people who go week in week out and season ticket holders should get first choice of tickets why slag off the rest of the people who find a product ( in this case the FA cup run) attractive and want to buy tickets. If there is little demand for a product then either the price is too high the product quality is not good enough to create demand or both. All that said, if you get a team in your blood you are stuck with it. Films and TV can never equal the sheer heart stopping excitement and drama of some football occasions. I have priceless memories of Oakwell starting back in the mid '60s when Winnie was centre half and Bob Earnshaw, Eric Brookes etc were plying their trade in the lower divisions right through to those unforgettable moments - HTFC 7-1, Spurs Manure in the Cup, Wembley Play-offs. I now have other priorities but still consider myself a fan as they are the only team I would ever follow. I agree I can no longer call myself a supporter though (and that is the real distinction) as I do not financially contribute to the club. Why not be grateful that this demand will bring money in to the club and help pay off some of the debts - or are you one of these people that want to tell so-called 'Johnny-come-latelys' or 'fair-weather-fans' to ****-off? Finally FYI - NO I have not got, nor tried to get, any Wembley tickets but if I was offered some I wouldn't see any shame in going just because I haven't been to Oakwell since the 'he-who-must-not-be-named' fiasco!
If the arctic monkeys played at oakwell every other sat night for 10 years the crowds would dwindle away - and you can bet they wouldnt start filling the ground again every week just cos they wrote a new song. Its a fact of life. Get over it.
RE: If the arctic monkeys played at oakwell every other sat night for 10 years if arctic monkeys played at oakwell i wouldnt go any where near it
