Barnsley: Played 32 Points 40 Through to 5th round of FA Cup General consensus is that it's the best team we've had in years. Despite a few dissenters amongst the crowd, the manager is viewed as being the best we've had in years and it's expect that he will go on to have a great future in the game. He is rewarded with a 4 year contract extension. Sheff Utd: Played 32 Points 39 Through to 5th round of FA Cup Mass dissent amongst the Sheff Utd faithful culminating in a 1000 strong car park protest baying for Robson's blood. A few days later the manager is sacked.
bit disingenuous really............ if we had just come down from the Premiership with that team I think there'd have been rioting in Grove Street if we had that record-and if you believe all the Blunts it's dire football as well
Ahh but the 'mighty' Blades should be much higher than 'little old' Barnsley.
All about expectations I spose, no doubt dem blades expected a top 6 finish, whereas most of our fans would be happy with any improvement on last season.
Plus they can afford to spend (was it?) £4m on Beattie? Whereas we could never afford that on one player.
Credit to Robson for fecking them right up

RE: see john hendrie 98/99 nt I see your point, don't think it's quite the same though. They spent a lot more than us and still went down. I think a lot of people expected more than Hendrie achieved, but a lot perhaps thought we were never going to bounce straight back up again
Billy Sharp-2 million quid 2 goals in a league cup game. Worse value for money than Odejayi and Mostto combined!!
RE: see john hendrie 98/99 nt yes but money isnt the same as it was then...british players cost more than their worth..plus he signed out best player in years hignett
