ITs been answered many times but how do i get rid of windows messenger?

     So that i dont get any annoying messenger style pop-ups and it doesnt start when i turn on the pc.</p>

    Or have you tried turning your computer on, then off again?

    add and remove
    add/remove windows components

    I tried both of those

    but it has only resulted in wasps being atttracted to my pc.

    If you mess about with the WM settings.. ie. make it so it doesn't start up at err, start up and set it to connect thru a proxy server (connection tab) then if it does come up it wo't sign in/annoy you.
