....the Queen will have to go cap in hand to the government seeking an increased income'</p> F.ck 'em.</p> http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8124022.stm</p>
Glad to give her my 70p, worth every penny Not a fully committed Royal Fan, but for 69p think of the revenue they generate, its peanuts.
RE: Glad to give her my 70p, worth every penny Yep Im delighted to do my bit so her waster of a son can hire private helicopters to piss off to golf tournaments just think what the dry cleaning bill would be if he got any muck on the arse of his suit using normal transport bargain I say
Totally agree, **** em. The royal family is outdate, out of touch and should be consigned to history.
Ask yourself this.... The Royals cost us £41.5m but how much money did all the tourist taht come to London to see the Palace etc bring into the economy?? 50% of all incoming tourists head for London and one of the biggest reasons for this is the Royals. Yes they are out of date, thats why they dont make laws/rule the country anymore... But as a tool for generating income etc they are tremendous for this country!!
You might as well talk to a fecking tree mate. </p> £190M - £41.5m = £148.5m profit and there's a lot of income from tourism that isn't covered by the Crown Estate revenue.</p> Our dog gets it by now.</p>
Worth every penny ... or Even Euro, as it'll be when we finally getsucked into that.</p> Not only an overallfinancial plus, but a tremendous asset in many other ways.</p>
Yeah right But listen right, all the trendy right on people right, like want to get rid of the Royals yeah ? Because...well...they do right ? And so do I yeah ?because it's trendy to want them out and I like only modern things yeah ? </p> </p>
You're right, they only cost £41 million. Or at least that's what they tell us. So, actually, it's £40 million plus 24 hour, 365 days a year security plus private transportthat is paid for by the tax payer. How much do we think that is?
RE: You might as well talk to a fecking tree mate. More jealousy of those with money without engaging brain. lets face it 13% of pretty much everything they spend comes back as VAT Then theres all the employment that they create of which 40% comes back as income tax. Whichever way you skin this cat £41 million gross seems pretty cheap for this phenominal revenue generator. As individuals you could chuck the lot in the sea. Getting rid of em would be the biggest case of cutting your nose of in history.
RE: You might as well talk to a fecking tree mate. 40%? There will be a large proportion of the royal employees who'd jump with joy if they earned anywhere near £34,400 (or whatever the 40% threshold is these days). And just because there is no family doesn’t mean the estates would run themselves so staff would still be needed.
RE: You might as well talk to a fecking tree mate. So you don't you pay 11% NI. And your employer doesn't pay 12.5% NI. Great. Where do you work that has that exemption. Numpty
RE: So the royal estates would still need drivers, butlers, Personal assistants without a family? nt Clearly not but there would still be staff needed to keep the estates.
How many teachers could we employ for £41 MILLION PER YEAR And would the tourists stop coming to London (i.e. not Barnsley) because the Queen had to be self financing?
RE: You might as well talk to a fecking tree mate. Erm you were the one who quote 40% income tax "Then theres all the employment that they create of which 40% comes back as income tax". You said it, I just responded. I didnt resort to childish name calling, i thought this was a mature debate - it seems i was wrong. ***** (wnkr)
RE: You might as well talk to a fecking tree mate. I just didn't think I'd have to break every element of a pay slip down for you. I must remind myself....stop overestimating the numpties.
