Who are we gonna rule out next? Ross return is ruled out BARNSLEY are ruling out a return to Oakwell for keeper Ross Turnbull. Middlesbrough's Turnbull was on loan at Barnsley for eight months last season but suffered a broken hand. He is now fully recovered and played in a pre-season friendly for a Middlesbrough reserve team in a 3-0 win over Hartlepool this week. Turnbull, who has established himself in the young England set up, could be available for another loan spell. Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie commented: "I'll always be interested in Ross but at the moment we've three keepers in Nick Colgan, Scott Flinders and David Scarsella." Barnsley have no leeway to bring in another and would be unlikely to move for 20-year-old Turnbull even if anyone if third choice Scarsella left. All three keepers are in the squad for tonight's friendly at Alfreton. Barnsley take a strong first team squad to the Conference North team for a 7.30pm kick-off. Only Richard Kell, Brian Howard and Bobby Hassell will miss the match injured but centre back Matt Carbon has recovered from a foot problem and will play tonight. Among figures revealed yesterday it was shown that Barnsley paid out £37,500 to players' agents over the last 12 months. Promoted duo Hull and Sheffield forked out £97,450 and £90,760 while Luton handed over £11,000. The report said that Barnsley were involved in 45 transactions which included 19 player registrations, 10 cancelled contracts and 12 loans. Barnsley FC Supporters Trust has been formed following the merger of the club's supporters' club and supporters' society. Trust officials will be at the open day at Oakwell on Sunday July 31. Membership rates are £4 for over 60's and the disabled, adult membership is £7.50.
Another non-story I'm getting fed up with the sports news. This morning reported that Michael Ballack ISN'T going to Man Utd and some other player ISN'T joining Arsenal! FFS - who cares? It's a non-story, don't tell us who isn't going where, tell us who is! Could go on forever saying who we aren't signing!
RE: Another non-story It realy gets on my nerves too, i dont mind stories that go' Barnsley have been linked with whoever'.
