Is this the only ever chant Barnsley fans have made up that has been sang regularly at games/copied by other fans?? Ok, we may be a vocal lot when we need to be - but for wit, originality and humour our chants are sadly lacking.......................... ...........'come on you Reeeedddddddddds' .............'there's only one Brain Howard...one Brian Howard' etc etc etc (zzz) (zzz) (zzz) (zzz) (zzz) (zzz) (zzz)
Devaneys Disco Pants are the best? You've obviously not been involved in the banter on trains to home and away matches then? Singing snooker loopy to the Orient fans one Saturday was hilarious.
RE: Devaneys Disco Pants are the best? Yeah, I 'slum it' and go in the car hence missing out on these gems - but chants that have caught on and are sang regular at games then these must only surface at the odd games I miss cos I aint heard them. Orient = bloody hell - that must have been some years back!! - surely a one hit wonder chant?? No it's the ones that caught on I mean - and were sung for at least a season or two AND had an element of originality ie were not thought up by another teams fans and with a few words altered to fit BFC/A BFC player.
RE: Devaneys Disco Pants are the best? "We'll keep the red flag flying high" Sung long before Chelsea Barstewardised it
People say that football's boring Ronnie Glavin's always scoring Can you hear the Ponty roaring Ronnie is our King
How many teams actually have 'there' song though? Remember the Zamora song, which was original. Feed the goat and he will score. Jermaine Defoe, he's a Yiddo. After that I'm kind of struggling really, unless my memory is pretty limited
I will give you that one!! - how could I forget? Hull fans were singing 'Deano, there's only two Deano's' on Monday which was fairly amusing' (Him wi' a reight shiner and Marney). .............SWFC have sang some weird and wonderful ones over the years - that Adams family thing (words on request if you dont know them - but funny!) and I remember one year 'Honolulu Baby' - A massive hit for that pop combo of the 1930s..............Laurel and Hardy! Delilah - Stoke Fans - why? (Inbreds?)
There's been loads down the years.... ...see my attempt to capture them in Match Memories..... http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=72288&mid=453349#M453349
the reds have never had there own song really, and most of the time hardly ever sing, a can remember when there were little singin and if the reds scored the song that started was "your not singin anymore" when we wernt singin before,
RE: didn't cowdenbeath used to sing that first? Cowdenbeath do call themselves the blue brazil! I've always watched for their results - they used to be really bad and used to lose week in week out but have picked up in recent years. They were actually champions a couple of years back!
