Worse 45 minutes all season that I have witnessed. Why?
    1. Wiseman at centre half and etuhu at right back and foster on the bench. Err, hello?
    2. No width on the right, O'Brien played on the left? Wtf???? Waited until half time to put in out wide, too late.
    3. Mellis on the bench and waste of space tunnicliffe playing.

What is more worrying is that we lose our left back to injury in a defence we have known all season is light, and we bring in some kid from man u to play in midfield!?! Totally bizarre.

I hope you don't mean Etuhu had a good game at right back? Wouldn't it have made more sense to play Wiseman at right back and Foster in the middle of back 4?

Apart from costing us the first and key goal.

He was decent second half defensively, as he had nowt to do. Woeful going forward. 6/10.

Wiseman or Etuhu? Your answer is important as I've got some umbrage in reserve.

    Wiseman or Etuhu what?

I'd select Wiseman at RWB or ont wing, or possibly central midfield. I would never pick him at RB in a back four, nor centre half in any formation.

Having seen Etuhu in central midfield, that's the only position I'd select him in. He's gash out wide.

When all players are fit (barring Golbourne) only Wiseman would get in my team. At RWB in a 352, and deputising for O'Brien in a 442.

    My ideal lineups would be:

    442

    --------------------Steele

    Hassell------Foster------Cranie------Kennedy

    O'Brien------Dawson-----Mellis-------Perkins

    -----------Dagnall------Harewood

    352

    ------------------Steele

    ------Hassell-----Foster----Cranie

    Wiseman------------------------Kennedy
    ------------Dawson---Perkins
    ------------------Mellis

    ----------Harewood---Dagnall

    Or summat.

*edit - We have the players available to select either of those lineups, but with Etuhu in for Dawson until he returns.

Also, just to add, I've got Wiseman in my preferred eleven. Which should once and for all quash the myth that I don't rate him. I do. I have only ever stated from day one that he's not a defender.
I think he'd be useful as a winger, or wing back, with Bobby behind him. It worked well last season if I remember right.

I'm just bemused about the Tunnicliffe loan and him jumping straight into a winning side. And selecting Etuhu at RWB/Wiseman centre half. It makes no sense. Neither does it make any sense to pick Wiseman (or McNulty) one game, then drop him, then recall him, and so on and so forth...

Football management isn't simple, granted. But it's not rocket science, either.

It wasn't clear who you were slating for offering nowt going forward in the post I quoted from. I'll give you Etuhu, I just wasn't sure if any of our back three should be doing so.

From what I heard on the radio and internet, Wiseman was poor first half, and better second half, but still no better than just OK.
Not my viewpoint but the Radio Sheffield reporter, who I think I would trust more than you on Wiseman.

Totally agree wi that. First half hour was spent with Flicker shouting instructions to the midfield who didn't know who was doing what. They had 2 big lads with not much pace but Foster didn't play so we're outmuscled AGAIN and 2 down at the break. 2nd half we get lucky wi for me 2 soft goals. Calamity then gets no help from defenders and we're down again. Mellis then does more in 20 mins than Tunnicliffe has done in 2 games. If in doubt, sign another midfielder. WE NEED A CENTRE HALF WHO CAN HEAD A BALL!!! (and a left back).
