It's like leaving your front door open and being surprised....

when all the well known robbers come in and nick all your valuables... and guess what... you'd not renewed your insurance.
The constabulary will say, "well sir, it's your own fault, there's nothing we can do, can you claim on your insurance?"
Reply, "Err, no, we didn't think this would happen. We thought that being highly successful a year ago would guarantee all our prize possessions would be safe."
Insurance company... "Why did you keep all your valuables on show just inside the open door?"
Reply, "Don't know, it just happened. We weren't to know there were robbers out there who'd take advantage. In hindsight we were too trusting."
Insurance company... "oh well, how sad, never mind."

 

We signed a replacement the day before he left. I don't think there was much surprise.
