She's 24. One of the presents we've got her is a ticket for a Taylor Swift concert at the Etihad in June (along with our daughter in law). However, since we've booked the tickets, we've been inundated with daily email messages from Manchester City. This morning she's received a personal birthday greetings message from Sergio Aguero! I pointed out to Laura that he's City's Oli McBurnie, but as she stopped her interest in football years ago, she simply doesn't care!
I got an e-mail from BFC wishing me Happy Birthday at the end of December - lovely gesture - trouble is my birthday is in February...
Say Happy Birthday to her from me please Kev - 24! wow time doesn't half fly. Haven't seen her for years so still picture her as a young teenager!
As a long time reader of this site, and remembering some of the problems she has faced in her life, then hearing of every birthday is fantastic news. I've never met any of your family (that I know of), but wish you all nothing but good in the future.
Happy Birthday Laura!! 1) I can't believe she is 24 2) I can't believe she has lost interest in football. She was really knowledgeable when she used to post on here.
My wife and I have three boys and we were reflecting the other week that our happiest years as a family was probably when they were in their late teens and early twenties. Being a grandparent is great. You can have a good time with the kids and then hand them back.! I have to say being a parent was one of the most rewarding things I've ever personally experienced. They've all moved out of home now, but there isn't a day goes by where one or more of them phones home to speak to Mum. Some of the most important life lessons we taught them, was how to be kind, be respectful towards others and to show love for those around them. They are all big strapping lads now, but the call to Mum always ends with her saying " I love you too son" which always gives me a good feeling. Health and happiness and a very Happy birthday Laura.
Are you sure you got the right venue....... rather than the Etihad, should you not have bought tickets for the other concert, at Old Trafford.......some boy band playing there. I think they're called The Strolling Bones Can I reiterate the sentiments of Mr Scoff above
Thanks to everyone for your kind words and wishes (even Sergio!). Laura has found them quite touching and moving, as she didn't think anyone would remember her.
I'm sure that everyone who posted here around 10 years ago remembers her. She knew more about football than most people in here. Happy birthday Laura!
Happy birthday Laura! 24 years old, I'm truly flabbergasted! As some other posters have said above, considering what she has been through over the years every passing birthday is a time for genuine celebration. She probably doesn't remember, but I wonder if she kept hold of the Busted programme. It was fantastic to meet her, but such a shame she doesn't enjoy football no more as she was a pleasure to have on the BBS.
