He is ambitious but he is not a show-off or anything. He is a very nice young man who wants to be the best. I can't fault him for showing determination to be the best he can. He's no different to me for that. I wish him Good Luck for the Future and hope he does do well. (angel)
I was not having a dig at him Laura!! Just an idea as to why Colgan is in.. but I do think that he won't be here come May
Mum said it was mentioned on the radio on Saturday that it was thought that Scott was being rested because he hadn't had much of a break during the Summer. I was talking to him at the Open day and he is really looking forward to doing well this Season at Oakwell and hopefully for England. (angel)
was told last week at oakwell that he was soon due to go elsewhere for £1m which might explain why he didn't start in case he got injured
RE: was told last week at oakwell A million quid would come in very handy. Sell him when the going's good. This is how we're going to get back on our feet - the only way.
I think the world of Scott After everything he's done for Laura , but £1m for a 19 year old goalkeeper who's only played 11 games for us ? That's a hell of a lot of money in today's transfer market , where most moves are frees . If it's true , then I don't see how the club could possibly turn the money down .
RE: I think the world of Scott took the words right out of my mouth. i think we shud keep him. hes a good keeper from what av seen so far
I completely agree with you. It sounds as though Scott is an absolutely top bloke. Surely another reason to let him go. Why stand in the way of someone talented AND decent? I can't help recalling that BFC was on its knees last Christmas Eve, for the want of a similar amount of money. A million pounds is a king's ransom in this league. I'm trying not to get ahead of myself here, but if we were to bank £800,000 and give the rest to our seemingly astute manager, would that not represent good business for everyone? Let's be honest, no club outside the Premiership has a million to spend on a very young goalkeeper. It would seem, therefore, that if the rumours are true, Scott is destined for a big club. The money would cover our overheads for a considerable time, perhaps leave a little bit for Ritchie to spend, and add credence to the theory that BFC are no longer a financial basket-case. Plus one of our own - who has treated Laura gloriously by all accounts - would get a significant reward. I first started watching Tarn in 1994. I remember being gutted when we sold Taggart for a substantial amount; ditto Ward; Hignett, etc. Yet having seen us sail so close to the wind financially, my instinct is to sell. You Reds!
RE: I think the world of Scott Let's put it this way, if they live a 19 yr old England International go for 1 Million at this stage of his career - our club is desperate.
we have always been a selling club. i think part of peoples problem with the academy is that we've not really produced anyone who we could sell on for big bucks.
