It's what we want from that individual and the club. I want to see passing and attacking football where we have a go at teams , bring the excitement and entertainment back. Some are calling for a manager that will give the current squad a rollicking and make them get stuck in which is a fair call but as soon as it becomes the predictable hoofball even if we are winning folks will be on his back (look at the Oldham game two weeks ago) I also want to see a manager that's allowed to manage without suggestions of meddling from the board and the chairman's son picking players from laiking football manager on His spectrum. Some will say they just want to win and aren't interested in style or substance but truly what do you want from your ticket money what will keep u interested in the reds and keep you coming to oakwell?
That sounds right to me. People were whinging about the Style of the 4 home wins on the bounce so getting in a hoof ball 'don't like it up em' type would seem to be counterproductive. Movement. Pace. Attacking intent. Play to win. Accept defeat against better teams gracefully. Pass and move. Verve. If we can deliver most of that I don't give a toss about results though they would naturally follow.
That's what we and all the other clubs want to see, trouble is you finish up with players in midfield who play the ball square and backwards the movement up front doesn`t materialise and in the end it gets hoofed or intercepted. Watched Villa today with a midfield more interested in making a successful pass than actually getting anywhere with the ball, wingers and full backs passing good crossing opportunities up to play the ball back or in field square. That's why there are so few shots on goal, possession over producing opportunities, anyway second half they got the ball forward quicker, put in the box earlier and got there just rewards. You can pass the ball all day long and keep possession yet still create **** all its mindnumbingly boring IMO, few teams can play that way well, the rest just look *****.
