After all we've lost plenty of times before. What saddens me is the lack of passion in this Davey side and the manner of our defeats. Against Preston I couldn't believe just how clueless the midfield were, giving the ball away what seemed like 90% of the time? And Hayes and Nads looked completely dejected and uninterested up front. Just 2 months ago these players, whilst I admit they were struggling to get the results we all wanted, were at least playing with passion and playing attractive football. From Davey's first game against Ipswich that disappeared. I got slated for my negativity on the 'ugly' win after the Ipswich game because we got the 3 points we badly needed but even then the disparity between management styles was there for all to see from that very first game. What has happened now is we are no longernicking the 3 points and the lack of substance beneath is being exposed for all to see.

Without team spirit and never-say-die attitudes, clubs like Barnsley, who have no money, who can't attract large crowds, wither and die very quickly. Bigger clubs might buy their way out of such a situatiion, whereas clubs like Barnsley can only evolve organically, from within, nurturing young talent, inspiring players to bring out the best and wringing every ounce of effort and ability out of average players. That's what Barnsley and many other clubs at our level are all about. Now, however, we seem to be pinning our hopes on a big signing, because no-one can see any other option, because the underlying fabric of our club is rotting away. And in my view that means we are doomed because Barnsley FC will never be able to buy their way out of trouble.

What BFC definitely can't afford today is a head-in-the-sand, arrogant, rose tinted response from the club. If Shepherd or Daveycome out and say today that we were unlucky, or are transitioning, or big signings are imminent, then it's as good as over.

    too right...

I wonted to give Davey my full backing we have/HAD to but, after last nights showing.....

All the team spirit seems to have gone, they don't seem interested to play for themselves, eachother or the club.

To loose a game but loose fighting we would endure But to loose like last night well....

Togwell seemed to try a bit and hayes was unluckey but poor all round.

sory but I'm loosing interest quickly...
