For a start - all these that are saying its a knee jerk reaction - must consider this
ITS NOT YOUR MONEY THAT IS WRAPPED UP IN THE CLUB

    Its the directors money -
And they have had to make a decision to sack Ritchie or potentially lose ££££ MILLIONS £££££

After the palace game everybody was complaining -
WE ALL KNEW WE WERE (are) GOING DOWN TO DIVISION ONE IF THINGS CONTINUED AS THEY WERE
Shep has made the decision to try and solve the problem and turn things round
Ritchie has refused last season and this season to strengthen the squad
What alternative has Shep got.........NONE !!!!!

    Well done Mr. Shephard
Remember - the directors are Barnsley folk who are fans as well as directors

    Not true

All Season Ticket holders have invested in the club this season.

When we parted with our cash upfront Andy Ritchie was manager, we invested in that.

Shepherd takes the credit for getting rid of the debts

Then sacks the manager that gets us promotion without spending a penny and cutting the wage bill and refuses to waste money on players he's not 100% sure of........Shepherds takeing the piss.

and without the fans there would be no club!

flip side young nudger, what about the money he has made for them in winning promotion? If you are financially sensible even with relegation they would still earn out it! who knows, i know none of us do!

one word which best describes you is..............Fickle

Gets rid of the debts ? £5m mate, just stopped the club making losses. (which in itself is an achievement.

financial results seem to be more down to

placing financial restraints on areas rather than marketing ploys to generated much needed income!

I would say it's partly down to marketting in that there are adverts around the scoreboard and facing into the stands and a sponsor on the back of our shirts. Not saying they're anything dramatic but they will no doubt have helped whereas in previous years we didnt have them</p>

agree they will have helped but

to advertise sponsorship opportunities on the websites main page suggest a lack of activity??

All i want to know is if the board feel that the 5 players who clubs have turned us down/players refused contracts and gone elsewhere are down to AR or the board placing restraints in areas which effect our bringing in of players i.e wages?

The fans will still be funding this club after PC et al leave!

Have you any idea what the biggest marketing tool is, for a football club? I'll tell you! A team that wins more matches than it loses. That was Ritchie's reponsibility and he failed.

Ticker on sky "it's clear to fans that desired squad strengthening has not been achieved"

Using your argument, the board are hiding behind the fans - a huge mistake and one that shows Shepherds' naievety as chairman of a football club.

No goal early on on Saturday and I feel it will be a VERY uncomfortable afternoon for Gordon.

Didn't BMBC put up £2 million to save the club

That makes every council tax payer in Barnsley a stake holder. How much did GS put up ( thats a genuine question by the way because I don't know)
