I along with many on this site suggested Davey should be given a chance to prove himself. The results in the early days were decent although the football was poor. I was of the opinion that if we added some players of the right sort, the team would play better, Davey would gain the experience and keep us up. During the last few weeks the football has deteriorated, the commitment has gone and the tactics become more baffling every match. The tactics last night were completely baffling. Had a local Manager of one of our pub sides been in charge last night, he would have taken Coulson off after 30minutes and used two other subs, at some stage later in the match, to replace any of the 3 or 4 players that were flagging. Please, Mr Shepherd, appoint a ‘proper’ manager, now. Its not too late to save the season with some additions to the team and a good proportion of ‘professional knowhow’ I am aware you have committed Simon Davey for 18 months but let him look after the Academy. Unless this is done in the next two weeks it will be too late and the club can look forward to Division One and gates of 4500.
RE: The results in the early days were decent To be fair, Davey came in at the right time. His first 2 matches were Ipswich and Southend at home. If Ritchie had been given just 2 more games, then I'd wager that he'd still be manager now.
