Am assuming this will be Keith hills line again !! I wanted him out in feb and nothing had changed his football is negative, slow uninspiring dare I say boring yet we all still keep turning up, football is not my profession but it is my passion ( as I imagine it is to most in here) yet I can see this team has problems 1) too slow build up , if we manage to win possession back from the other team anywhere on the pitch by the time we have decided what to do or moved the ball forward , the opposition have men behind the ball again 2) we need and have needed at least one good quality central defender and have done for the past 18 months 3) we waste chances to get the ball in the box , free kick on edge of opponents area and its passed sidewards 4) no width .. At all, hardly ever is the ball pushed to the byline for a cross into the box 5) no midfield support for the strikers, ball is played up to the strikers and everyone stops , where are the players running up in support creating space 6) no alternative plan - pass, pass, pass , pass - pleasing on the eye but what's wrong with variation ? Launching the ball long once ? 7) one paced - all the time no change in the pace we play the ball I could go on and on ... 40 yard crossfield glory balls conceding possession, players backing out of challenges etc As I said I'm not in the profession but I can see that these things are not happening yet they can be coached but I suspect they are not because in reality it's only football it doesn't really matter does it In summary if Keith hill is unable / unwilling to coach this then find someone who can and will
I agree with some of that mate but, how can you say that all we do is pass, pass , pass, then go on to say 40 yard cross field glory balls??
Yeah good point with that tbh but I think it's done in frustration because they run out of ideas what to do ? Could be wrong of course
Gets to me when we pass, pass, pass at the back and then back to Steele to launch a 50/50 ball up field. Surely a 50/50 ball 30 seconds earlier and 25 yard further up field is preferable.
