Whilst a lot of 'so called Barnsley fans' are pissing and moaning and generally being negative towards the club, and Simon Davey in particular, it seems as though a lot of them have suddenly chosen to forget about the likes of clubs that have gone down 'instead' of us: Southampton; A team, who not so long ago were regarded as a proven, regular Premiership team. Yes, people, they have been relegated and are now below us. Can you believe that? Can you? No?...Oh, I didn't think so; you won't be persuaded until we sign Ruud Van Nistelrooy for a striker and Rio Vavuba for midfield; sorry. Oh, but look... Charlton Athletic; they've also gone down don't you know. Oh, you didn't? Oh, you did? Well, they have, and again, a few years ago, were once a regular Premiership side. They once battled with the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal on a consistent basis, and are now, below us, significantly. Great uh? Norwich City; Yes, a major power, once in English football; regularly in the top flight of English football, and again, without going into any drivvle, below us in the tiers of English football. With the likes of Leeds United.... Just take a step back, and think about **** for a little bit; we are doing very, very well for our stature. I know a lot of you wish we were at the top of the Premier league or even in the Champions League, but just take a step back, and just get a grip of reality; we are doing very, very well for our size. We aren't a Premier League club, not yet, not until we get it together and start playing some fine football, not yet. Just give us time, and get behind us. Quit with the negativity. It seems as thought most people just love to whine and moan about anything they can; why? What is the point? What is it going to achieve? Really? Crazy; ain't it? Get behind the lads this season, and cheer em oh. They need us and the negativity doesn't do anything. COME ON YOU REDS!!!
Barnsley`s excursion into the Premiership ended in relegation through to League 0ne within 5 years just as the 3 teams relegated this year and the likes of Leeds and Leicester. Since returning to League One we have had 3 seasons avoiding relegation when 2 of those seasons in mid table would I`m sure have pacified most fans. By the way Huddersfield Town were once a major force. Lets hope this season brings about something different.
