The negative ones amongst couldn't see us picking up any points in October and felt that Simon Davey couldn't turn things around........ Some even wanted us to lose hoping he would get the sack! I am proud to say I didn't fall into that category and felt Davey needed more time. I also predicted we would pick up 11pts in October, 3wins & 2draws, and so OI was only 1pt shy! I thought as you all so kindly created 'Davey OUT' polls day after day when things weren't going our way, I would see if peoples opinions have changed now that we have a few more wins under our belt............ and now we can bragg about having 100% record against local rivals this season!!!!! So come on.... are you behind SD, not sure or against him?
wheres the 'i've always backed him and no i'm not gloating just happy to see the side winning' option?
RE: wheres the! so you think that everyone who has supported Davey and is completely fed up with the abuse and stick he gets, sometimes even when we go on a good run and win 3 out of 3 derby games, is up their own arses because they have pointed out that the abuse given to him was neither constructive nor useful? I am not the only one and i am not up my own arse, i'm just glad we didn't sack Davey and end up even further back with a manager that would have inherited a team full of Daveys signings leaving us in a much much worse situation than we were in before
RE: wheres the! not at all, just a comment on the way the post was worded,If you had read my previous posts you would know that I strongly believe in everybodys right to an opinion. I also can't understand why after a win one lot are on saying told you so ( see your original post last night) and generally spoiling the atmosphere when I am sure the majority just want to enjoy the win. Same thing after a loss or a win dare to put anything ngative on here and you are blasted by some of the get behind em whatever brigade. Nor do I think that a losing performance should neccesarily have been devoid of plus points and blasted regardless if it was a good performance. In short totally hate the told you so mentality especially when absoluteley nothing has been proven in the long term.
RE: wheres the! i'm not saying told you so though as i explained also last night. that was the last thing i wanted to do, what i have tried to point out numerous times is that winning breads confidence and if everyone sticks together and gets behind the team (and Davey) its far more likely to result in a more positive atmosphere which can only benefit the team. the only point i am making about Davey (not at all saying told you so because we could lose the next ten games and as you say nothing is proven yet) is that yes, have a go at him and complain about tactics and whatever else but he has got into a situation with some people where he is criticised no matter what and as alot of people have already said, we are much better when we get behind him and the team and back him. i have backed him since he came and i like him, hes made mistakes but hes a young manager and at the moment he deserves our support (in my opinion) more than ever as he has won 3 out of the 3 derby games and things are looking up. i know the performance was poor in the 2nd half yesterday but we won, it was 3 points and if we continue to get results the performances will come with it hopefully, but i would settle for winning ugly every week
