Doesn't look like a serious suicide bid to me. Looks like a poor sod who is convinced (rightly or wrongly) that somebody is trying to kill him and has resorted to desperate measures to draw attention to it.

It appears he's saying somebody has tried to kill him twice and it's on CCTV. I wonder if he has reported it to the police in the past and been ignored so now he's become desperate to save his life.

What gets me is why no-one has posted another picture of the bit that he's blocking. He's moved around since so it must has been visible and is clearly a very important part of the message - presumably saying who tried to kill him - but no-one has said what it says.

Not sure why people pulling this kind of stunt are allowed to get away with closing a section of the M1 for most of the day. I wonder if all those inconvenienced will be able to sue him? Thinking of businesses, rather than individuals.

The gantry wasn't that high. They could have got a cherry picker up there and pulled him off this morning. If he jumps, he jumps.

 

I'm going to have take a shot in the dark and say that it's not a popular move for police to distress clearly unstable people into jumping to their deaths

You're right about the other part of the message too, it's clear he's walked around leaving the rest of the message uncovered but I can't find any images of what it says which is odd.

Apparently he has a history of doing this. One person wrote 'the last time he did this I missed the last day with my dying daughter'

His writing refers to police trying to kill him.

His actions were a direct result of the Yorkshire post publishing an article about the last time he did it (for 8 hours in 2003) where they sad it was after an argument with his ex wife. He says he's never been married so has climbed up until they admit he hasn't and they show the CCTV footage of his alleged murder attempt in custody.

What's worse is that he informed police on Saturday that he was going to do it as they ignored him.

If he was mentally unstable then he needs to be given help but if he was just an attention seeker then he needs to be given the strongest possible sentence.

 

After he did it the last time he was evaluated and confirmed not to have any mental illness. A judge declared it was 'hissy fit'. He's been arrested several times and is a serial campaigner on behalf of father's for justice and against the corrupt government, council and police.

The last time he did it 2 diabetics almost slipped into comas stuck in traffic, a baby had to be airlifted to hospital due to being stuck in traffic for 8 hours and a woman rushing to see her dying mother in hospital got there too late. He got 18 months for it.

Edit: he was also a director of a 'news' website which was shut down by the council for publishing false and defamatory stories about council and police officials regarding child sex abuse.

From my limited research it appears that HE was alleged to have carried out child abuse at some point, charges that were dropped. Since then he has become paranoid that the authorities, be that government police or council are all at it and his campaigned, protested and made big public shows about the child abuse carried out by everyone in a position of authority

 

If that is true then he should be going to prison for a very long time. I have a lot of time for the 'Fathers for Justice' group and what they're fighting for but tosspots like this bloke do them absolutely no good whatsoever.

 

What I don't understand is how somebody who can be so selfish, reckless and basically an utter pr1ck can then be surprised when he isn't allowed to look after an innocent child.
