proving that we have got a stronger side not a weaker one. Yes we could do with a goal scorer but which team couldnt? Shuker- Mcindoe Burns- Togwell Mcphail- Healy im happy with that, if Healy can keep fit i think he be a lot better than McFrail
RE: proving that Keeping McFrail fit wasn't exactly easy, so I can't see Healy being any worse (kiss of death).
If devaney is struggling, then get mcparland on. The few times I have seen him he looks pretty decent. Can beat a man, and gets some good crosses in. A decent run in the team would be good for him. Competition for places can only be a good thing.
didnt think he did that bad its just that he used to stand out more because of his dazzling performances. at the moment macca is doing that and it takes the limelight off disco. i think he will be fine. just needs to get bk into it
no opposition team.... ...is going to fancy playing against those two in full swing. Remember in the promotion season how many goals we scored on the break by using Clint and Bully as outlets. Fantastic to watch, especially when they would just swap wings. Very, very hard to defend against if you can get a good early ball out of defence.
RE: proving that The starting midfield looks excellent now and hopefully devaney is just adjusting to playing on the other wing.
Here's my quick analysis of the squad.
Goalkeeper = backup needed
Defence - could still do with somebody experienced but they look ok
Strikers - oh dear god
I think that our starting 11 looks much stronger than last season but as a squad we are definetly weaker. Maybe 3 or 4 players away from a really good solid squad and if we got those players then I don't think that staying up should be our aim for next season, I think mid table should be the objective.
We can maybe get away without signing a keeper if we get letheran because it isnt often that we need the backup and if we do we can always loan somebody quickly. One good solid defender as backup (or to push kay/reid for the first team) should see us right for as soon as we get an injury or two which we always will. Another midfielder in the howard role for backup should be good. It's a shame the nicky wroe is crap because he would be ideal. 100% definetly need a striker. The other areas can wait till january if need be but the striker needs to be signed within the next two or three weeks otherwise I think we are going straight back down.

RE: no opposition team.... well we saw that a bit last night. the team looked really good going forward. one time we had 5 players racing into the box towards their 4 defenders.
quote of the day from Super Tyke I know what you mean fella. I always thought Tony Rees was the ideal strike partner for David Currie. Shame he was crap really. Also that Lee Crooks was an ideal utility man. Again, he was crap which was a shame. And as for Tony Bullock - would have been a fantastic replacement for David Watson, had he not been crap.
The wingers can create a million chances for the front men but.. The Strikers aren't taking their chances and that is what will cost us. Tommy Wright missed an open net last night! we need to be more clinical upfront
the team will concede and can't score what does that say to you? Reckon Ritchie might play a 4-1-4-1 pretty often, esp away from home.
Tony Rees! Scored a stunner against us didn't he? Was it for Derby? So we signed him and waited and waited and ..... (zzz)
nope, it was for..... ...Birmingham, FA Cup, lost 0-2. First match I ever saw us lose. Was well gutted and cried afterwards.
I remember now. They scored the 2nd in the last minute we had 10 players in their half, they had one in ours, how is that not offside? C'mon ref, we could still have come back.
RE: no opposition team.... agree we looked vry exciting going forward, still not sure about our finishing prowess!anybody else that went did they think that the midfield looked a lot more pacy and direct without mccphail, howard lokked very good.
