Just watched the programme Colgan can be seen (as usual) stuck to his line on Coventrys first 3 goals Can't blame him for the 4th The programme also shows some really poor defending by Barnsley - school boy stuff 1st goal Simple punt into an open penalty area from a free kick. No one stood infront of the free kick. No defender attacking the ball when its sent in. Colgan stuck on his line - shot from inside (INSIDE !!!) the 6 yard box 2nd goal Nyatanga goes out to stop the cross (wheres the midfield?) leaves Reid with Kyle. Colgan stuck on his line 3rd goal Gray? turns Kozluk inside (which should never happen in the area) Reid makes an half hearted attempt. Colgan stuck on his line. 4th goal Big boot up field. Werling easily turned by attacker and in on goal
Can i just say then should colgan come and tackled the player for the third seen as it was Kozluk that was tracking the player?
Colgan should have come off his line every time he gets the chance, then when they head the ball past him because he had no chance of getting to it as was the case yesterday we can say bloody hell colgan stay on your line man!
I would say this about any goal keeper If its one on one (atacker against a defender) within the box then the goal keeper should be looking at getting the angles right so as to reduce the net which is open. On the 3rd goal, Colgan should have been closer to the attacking player making it near impossible to find a space to shoot into As for the 1st goal - Colgan surely should be attacking the ball that is sent into our 6 yard box For the second goal - a goal keeper will always beat an attacker in the air if he can get close. They knew about the treat of Kyle but Colgan stayed on his line. As soon as Colgan say Nyatanga racing out to stop the cross, Colgan should have been ready to sprint out to get the ball out of the air. But he stood there and waited.
