    I'm sure we all know now that he/Clive, has been 'pushed aside', sort of, by Itv sport.
    I think he deserves better than that to be honest, as for me he's always been a good and likeable commentator (on either channel).
    But here's what hes had to say about it since, so what do we as fans think about this. Now that Sam Faceything looks like being their top commo from now on!.

    I'm just extremely saddened that he's been replaced by Sam ******* Matterface .

    I cannot stand the bloke. Watched him on various programs and platforms and he just screams odious, arrogant so and so. Which would be fine I suppose - if his commentary was any good!

    Don’t think he’ll be number 2 after that, massive shame they all seem to be going down the diversity route in a lot of cases for box ticking, not all but it’s happened on all the platforms ironically apart from radio. Before the high and mighty strike this isn’t misogynistic or racist but a fact.

    Okay look at the raft of presenters on all channels since the Lionesses success then, some good ones like Alex Scott and Laura Woids but some awful ones too

    So what you're actually saying is that they're capitalising incthe popularity and success of the lionesses then? That's the complete opposite of box ticking

    Yes it would be but in the process dumping on long serving favourites (not necessarily mine), in the man’s game.

    Because of the murder of George Floyd and the start of BLM the majority of channels were reactive not proactive regarding the influx of Black/Asian people on tv .

    Correct, he was 'demoted' for Matterface as you say about 4 years ago.
    The current news is that his contract has not been renewed at all and he was axed after his last match commentary (last 16).

    Employers are allowed to decide who they employ and what they want them to do. And if you're on a fixed term contract, they're allowed not to renew it. They clearly prefer someone else.

    Personally I dont see what's wrong with Tyldesley. Am not too fussed with Matterhorn but he's ok. My favourite of all time was David Coleman! 1-0!

    Remember this amazing game against Leicester in the cup replay, in Jan '93. :)
    Clive was commentating for the Beeb in those days.
