Direct from a free-kick, but looked to be a poorly organised wall by the Forest keeper. The ball didn’t seem to do much
Yeah when you see the replay just watch what Toney does just before the kick. With the ball already at the end of the ref’s mark and the Forest wall lined up, he picks up the ball, spins it, puts it down even further away from the ref’s mark and then repeats it all again. Net result is he’s moved the ball around 9 to 12” inches and created a far better angle. Having said that it was a well taken free kick.
Awful from the goalkeeper is that. Especially when his own teammates are telling him so. There was literally nowhere else Toney could have put that ball, not without taking a huge deflection anyway.
He basically cheated but in fairness to him it was very clever cheating. I agree with the above poster about the keeper though. Yates was screaming at him that the wall needed to be further over & he wasn’t having it.
Technically, but players move the ball at free kicks all the time, shouldn't be any different just because it was just outside the box...
Agree but he even moved the foam with his finger. Just crafty really. You’d be delighted if your player did it but fuming if it happened against you
I get your point mate but moving foam always happens too - I think even if he hadn't had moved the ball slightly it still would have gone in considering the gap. Awful goalkeeping
