...to make sure I didn't become suicidal. We were fantastic on Saturday. Absolutely fantastic. We grafted like f.ck, never looked like conceding and caused them some problems. Mellis was the best player on the pitch by a mile, Jack Hunt looks some player even half fit and Jennings is turning into a player that might keep us up. Two mistakes cost us - Frimpong being a little too eager on his debut in front of a big crowd and O'Brien giving the ball away. That's all. Was proud of 'em Saturday night and still am today. More confident of staying up after that defeat than when we beat Blackpool.
I also thought they gave everything. You could see what it meant to them when that goal went it. We just need to start picking up wins this month. We need 3 wins imho as march is difficult with leicester etc..
Can't fault you with that assessment Dyson. I also thought Hunt looked great and the early chance he had showed that it's not just about getting forward, it's about getting into the right position, which he did. Would have been a different game had that gone in...
I'd add one more, Cywka's corner that put Wednesday on the attack in the first place. We should have been down their end, not defending our own box. That and the fact the ref continued playing until they scored. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say we were fantastic (although Ramage was and Cranie not far behind) but there was certainly plenty of fight and spirit. You couldn't have asked for any more from the team in terms of effort.
you cant give the ball away like they did on more than one occasion,in front of your own 18 yarder.thats what ultimately cost us,jimbo's wasn't the first time we gifted them the ball. other than that, yes without doubt they grafted, ramage and cranie were the stand outs for me.
yeah that was a terrible corner. but when you are only getting sub game time you are gonna be rusty in match situations.
The fact we were down to 10 men made any proper assessment hard on the football front. On the effort put in it was 110 percent. In the old days we would have been avalanched. Looking forward to see how we now perform in the next few matches. I do not think we will miss Frimpong
