I bought an A3 printer on ebay almost 2months ago now. Its a complicated tale so I will try to be brief. - original priner purchased on was used but still worth £300approx, however, I paid £100. - after 2weeks it had not arrived. First first excuse was that the item had been damaged by courier and returned. I was advised that I would receieve a brand new printer as a replacement. - 1 month after purchase, no new printer. Seller said item had been delivered, but then later claimed that courier had lost it and would be sending letter of apology and as a good will gesture would pay for new printer. This meant that I would recieve a full refund from seller and a free printer of my choice, sounds to good to be true. - 6weeks after purchase. Seller confirmed that new printer was in stock and would be shipped. - 7weeks after purchase. Still no printer cheque or letter of apology. - 8weeks after purchase. A printer arrives but is tatty and used, unboxed and a lesser model than that originally purchased...... ARGGHHHHH They have promised a new printer and full refund. I can phone the credit card company and they can chase it but, I will only get my money back at best! these idiots have promised all these freebies and add ons as compensation.... I want some compo!! Any advice
Try PC World - you could get a new printer there. Best you can manage would be your money back which wouldn't be a bad outcome.
Take the refund. All you will have lost is time and effort and maybe a bit of dignity.
Inform SafeHarbour at eBay about the mess and also put on negative feedback for the seller.
eBay should contact the seller and ask them to conform with ebay seller agreements or they will remove the seller from their lists and they will not be allowed to use the service again.
I had the same problem with something that we bought for our son. That's the action that I took and the seller was barred from usng the site and I got a FULL refund.
Dignity restored!

RE: they are a company, not an idividual But they are still bound by the SafeHarbour policies within eBay.
