Right after much reading of this pisspoticle board over the last 24 hours, why don't all happy clappers, moaners, 'the don' dislikers, the general 'the club are *****' haters all chill out and wait till this supposed takeover goes through. If and when it happens, should Keith Hill get some funding like he much wants then he is totally at his own destiny and we can make a real evaluation of him. If he screws up after that then yes lets get shut and look for someone else because he's obviously not up to scratch. At the minute were expecting him to perform miracles with **** all, its like sending a joiner to work with no saw or hammer. Up until this takeover happens we have to battle through and pittle with the tail we have, all these silly poll's about should we sack him or not arer utter *****, at this current moment i'll stick my neck on line and sasy there's no one else out there who could do any better. P.S should we win our next 2 games will all the doom and gloom merchants be still after his blood? Anyhow less from Judith the almighty happy clapper
Re: Is a takeover even happening? Just of how tangible this takeover really is. It's gone very quiet on that front and we still don't know the identity of the bidder or bidders.
Well said Judith...always loved your holiday programmes too...although I preferred Frank Boughs...no offence
Actually it's a bit like sending a joiner to work with only a saw and a hammer because he told you that he doesn't need power tools and he's a good old fashioned intelligent carpenter who only needs hand tools only for him to do a piss poor job fitting your kitchen and blame it on the fact that he didn't have the same tools as the joiner across the road.
No it's not. It's like a joiner saying he could build you exactly the kitchen you wanted, nothing more, nothing less, using a toothbrush. During that time, you cut his toothbrush in half and pull out some of the bristles. Half way through though, he says 'sorry mate, it's a bit harder than I though - any chance of a hammer too?'. He doesn't get a hammer. Still, he built you that kitchen using half a toothbrush with no bristles and then you ask him to build you another kitchen but this time with a few added extras like underfloor heating and inbuilt appliances using the same toothbrush. He then asks you if he could maybe go back to having the toothbrush he started with at the start and you say no. Can't have the hammer, either. Or summat.
Jesus was a good old fashioned carpenter....and he could turn water in to beer and fish into kebabs,so it shows what you know!!
KH is performing about where anyone else with our budget would do. He's had a year to create his team, he has to increase his win % otherwise he's no better than getting any random person to manage the team - in otherwords wage bill generally dictates finishing position, only a few managers ever buck that trend, end of story, the question is, will Keith be one of them?
And that's a brilliant ide?? I've got something better and it's not an idea more logical really. If my striker scored a goal the previous week, I would not then drop him to the bench and play without a recognised striker for the next game and then moan about the limitations of my squad. Not 1 shot on target.
Re: And that's a brilliant ide?? Your quite right in what you say. For me the only thing hill got right yesterday was putting steel back between the posts
Is that the same joiner who sometimes.... When the mood takes him, inexplicably refuses to put any taps on the sink, fits ovens that are blatantly not up to the job, often bites the hand that feeds him and is miserable as sin?
But Robins was slated because he wanted some bristles on his brush , after he had been told he could have a brush and a new tube of paste, then told he had to make do with just a bristle less brush. So he left and got false teeth instead of going to buy a silly jacket. Or summat
I don't really want a takeover. Or rather, I don't want one who pump a load of money in. If a new consortium take over and continue to run the club like any normal business, where outgoings equal incomings, then that's fine, but I've no interest in the club suddenly being plunged in to massive debt. Anyone who invests money in Barnsley FC will want every single penny of that investment back and more. I simply don't understand why fans are desperate to be taken over by people who intend to use our club as a means to make money for themselves. It mystifies me. I don't want Keith Hill sacked either. But I don't think he's a joiner without a hammer and a saw. He's signed more players in a shorter space of time than any other manager I can remember. He's got plenty of tools in the box. I think the board have backed him admirably. We can't afford diamond encrusted tools like, but you don't need those to build a nice chest of drawers. Who can afford such tools anyway? Not us with only 9,000 paying customers. We're even less able to afford them if we're paying back a massive debt. We're a small club for the championship. A decent manager at our club will struggle to get us out of the bottom third of the division, but should keep us up. We're not the only small team, but we are more financially stable than many others. A poor one will get us relegated. A really good one will move us up to midtable and maybe beyond. It looks to me like we've got a decent manager. It would be nice to have a really good one, but we're a small team and we can no more expect brilliant managers than we can expect brilliant footballers. What we've got to hope is that our decent manager continues to learn his trade and matures in to a good one. No idea if that will happen or not, but I do know we should stick with him and find out.
