As it could easily turn out to be a non-event. Again.

But, I'm not keen on some random foreigner coming in. For the myriad reasons that far more insightful contributors to this forum have already expressed/outlined.

Which brings me onto Keith Hill and his position.

Everyone who knows me on here, will no doubt know how much I love our current manager. Implicitly.

However, let's be fair - if he'd been offered the Leeds job (he was talked about at the time as in the running) instead of Colin, he'd have been off like a shot. He wouldn't even be here if he'd succeeded in getting the Blunts gig, either.
So as much as I'd feel for him if a takeover occurred which saw him dismissed, and as much I'd be gutted personally (because I rate him) I think we should still calm down a little bit.
Loyalty in football often means nowt - ask Sir Bobby, who you can guarantee won't be at right-back on Saturday.

This club needs stability. Has done for years. And under it's present guise (and present manager) it's about as stable as you'll get for a club operating in the second tier.
Yes we're all unhappy about ticket prices, but it's a football issue, not purely a BFC issue.
Yes we all moan and whinge at The Don etc about allsorts, but it's not that bad here, is it?

In fact, the anti-takeover feeling emanating from this forum in particular, serves well to prove that we're actually quite happy with our current setup/status.

Makes you wonder if The Don and Keith came up with all this takeover ****** just to get us fans to admit that they're actually doing a sterling job......

I know what you're saying but the certainty with which you say Hill would have gone for the Leeds or United job is a bit strong, when in reality it can be nothing more than a hypothesis based on your own opinion.

You can only speculate that Hill would have gone to Leeds or any other club. I would be gutted if he was to leave and if he was sacked for no reason than the new owners wanted to bring somebody else in then I would have to question my own loyalty to the club.

Do you think he'd have turned either of them down?

If say Wednesday were to sack Dave Jones, and came here for Keith... do you reckon he'd turn it down?

    Just wondering.

Same as I've just asked Mike.... do you think he'd turn down Wednesday, the Blunts or the Dirties?

I think you are just feeling a little bit insecure, flower. It's all the incertainty, it's to be expected. :)

Possibly not but until it happened and became a matter of fact it's only opinion and speculation. Regardless of whether he would or wouldn't leave my opinion of him being sacked would remain the same.

I agree with that. But I doubt he'd show us the same loyalty. Unfortunately.

Its not always so simple - At Barnsley he is given his financial guidelines but then pretty free to do as much as he likes - no directors of football or chairmen playing football manager etc, and it seems he has a good working relationship with Patrick and Don

That does count for more than just money - and Mr Bates to give an example isnt renowned for his generosity either

Hill being replaced is the single biggest fear I have if these take over rumours develop into a reality.

Plus Hill has had to go through a huge amount of pain to get to this point with the fans, a period he clearly did not enjoy.

I honestly don't know. I'm not saying you're wrong or right, just that to be so certain about a hypothetical situation is impossible and unfair on Hill as ultimately we will never know.

Brilliant, whether you meant that or not! And a valid point, double bubble. :)
