Murray, 35 year old scrappy little ****-kicker from Cumbria - folk singer/pianist with the band Tarras and tree surgeon by day - has just landed himself the plum role of singer/narrator in the National Theatre production of Warhorse. Takes over in March and I'm proud and chuffed as owt!!

Don't mind me sharing, just been out on the lash celebrating!! If anyone gets to see it, he's the skinny tw@t with the crap hair!! :D

Seeing it in October in Birmingham, I'll look out for him.

Good stuff - still trying to persuade the missus to go see it at the Lowry Theatre

He's on at the New London Theatre, Drury Lane. I'm sure the provincial productions just as good!

Me and my better half saw it in London in 2011. An incredible experience, I found I had (ahem) 'something in my eye' almost for the entire performance.

It's a true work of art, I've no idea why Speilberg chose to mess up the film adaptation by overdoing/oversimplifying the themes and piling on the schmaltz, but he did.

I'm really chuffed for your mate, and jealous! I bet he feels really privileged to be a part of something so special.

Excellent. Saw Michael Morpurgo do a reading of the book at the Sidmouth Folk Festival in the summer. Having never seen the film, it really was fantastic - very moving. Good luck to your mate.
