It could be all rubbish, but then again it could be true. Apparently Devaney dislikes McCann from their days at Cheltenham. Something about a row over pay. McCann was getting more than him at Cheltenham, so Devaney threw a wobbly, hence the reason why Devaney left Cheltenham.
It could be rubbish - I dont even know if they played for Cheltenham at the same time.

yer thats true, eventually they did offer him more money but he still left and eventually ended up at us
RE: Yeah It's True. A Cheltenham Fan Came On Here Yesterday And Started A Thread With The Full Stor Speaking to a lad from Gloucestershire yesterday who knows Devaney. He said something along the lines of, "Martin's a top lad and comes back to Cheltenham quite often to go out with his mates. He's a good looking fella and gets a bit of hassle from people when he's out as he's just got one of those faces, he's not a trouble causer though! He was a top player at Town and it was sad to see him go, a few of the boys went down to Cardiff early before the Grimsby game and got tickets for the Barnsley v Swansea game just to watch him. Don't know anything about a fall out with McCann. Grant is (was) Cheltenham's best player, so if you can keep hold of him you've done well."
RE: Yeah It's True. A Cheltenham Fan Came On Here Yesterday And Started A Thread With The Full Stor McCann actually said hge was pleased to be linking up with martin again!!
From the star: McCann, who arrived at Barnsley only five days ago, comes with ambitions of reviving his international career with Northern Ireland. First indications of the club's interest in him came via close mate Martin Devaney. http://www.mysporttoday.co.uk/ViewArticle.aspx?SectionID=4867&ArticleID=1899488&sitecode=shef&sportcode=barnsley
In past now they're professionals and they need to move on. If Wise and McCarthy can make up then surely these two can. They've got to work together again and they can't be holding grudges.
