Explaining what's going on with the tickets... Whether anything can be/will be done about it now I don't know but I've explained if it isn't sorted the club may miss out on anything up to £50,000. I await a response.
RE: How do you work that out? Well it's a rough guess... a large amount of ST holders by the sounds of it are gettin seats that aren't their normal ones and so as such their seats will remain unsold unless something is done about it. £20-odd a ticket times however many - I guessed maybe up to 2000-3000 could do that if it avoided a 5-hour queue - or for example if they go down now or any time till 8pm.
RE: How do you work that out? It only becomes a problem if they are turning people away on the night due to being full and I can't see that to be honest. The club will have the sales figures to be able to make alternative arrangements should there be any danger of this. (e.g. organise stewarding for the closed section of the west stand)</p>
Just had a response... Apparently around 55% of current season ticket holders have already bought a ticket for their usual seat today... maybe it won't be too much of a problem then. My point was that if ST holders can still get their seat up to kick-off, those that had bought tickets elsewhere in the ground - which sounds like a few - wouldn't take up their own seat and therefore the ground couldn't fill... causing lost revenue. How many this would be I've no idea, but I considered a worst-case scenario I suppose.
But maybe those like me... cannot get to the ground until the evening of the game. Therefore i need my seat saving. Am i the only one who is a ST holder who doesnt live near Barnsley?
so at a rough guess............ allowing for a few numptys who didn't want an away ticket 55% of say 6000 ST holders = 3300 and that leaves about 500 away tickets left as of your email
RE: But maybe those like me... Fair point - maybe they could have asked people in your situation to ring in and ask for it to be saved? Not be hard for either party would it?
RE: But telephone bookings aren't allowed! I know that, but if they had done things differently that could have been an option.
With a bit of luck, the club are taking on board everything and learning from it ready for the next stage!
